Finding a pet
- How fresh are the listings?Refreshed daily. A pet that leaves a list is "no longer listed", never "adopted". Call the shelter to confirm.
- How does the search work?Say what you want in a sentence, in any of ten languages. Breeds, colours, ages, sizes and places become filters you can edit.
- Which languages can I use?Ten languages, for the search and for the pages around each pet.
- I lost or found a pet. Can Petnecto help?Petnecto lists adoptable shelter pets. Vienna's found-animal list is shown for owners; it is not adoptable.
- Can I follow new pets near me?Any search can be an Atom feed in a feed reader, newest first, with no account.
- What is Petnecto?A search for adoptable shelter pets, for people and their AI assistants. You always adopt with the shelter.
- Where do the pets come from?Public open data from shelters and governments, each with its licence and credit. Today Taiwan, parts of the US, Zaragoza and Vienna.
Adopting
- Can Petnecto hold or reserve a pet for me?No. Petnecto never holds pets or takes applications. Holds and reservations are the shelter's call, so contact the shelter.
- How do I adopt a pet I found?Open the pet's listing, follow the link to the shelter's own page, and ask the shelter. Adoption always happens with the shelter.
- A listing looks wrong. How do I report it?Use the Report link on the pet's page. A person reviews every report; reports never remove a listing by themselves.

- Show adoptable pets on your websiteOne script tag puts a shelter's pets, or pets near a place, on any page. Free, no cookies, always credits the shelter.
- Change or remove your listingWrite to hello@petnecto.com. Removals happen within one business day.
